Municipality of Tertenia, 1,718 MW (two plants : 949,9 kW and 768 kW), on the industrial area. The authorization for the installation o PV plant through a SUAP have been concluded at the beginning of 2009 also with the support of PP2, in the framework of PV in Bloom. Works began in September 2009 and actually the PV plants are connected to the electrical grid. The last PV plant has been connected the 18th Dicember 2009. PEPS support consisted in delivering PVPP project information, involving the local municipality in order to have the Letter of Intent, networking with the technical officer of the commune and with the company owner of the plant in order to know the work start up time and procedures. PEPS engagement, at the time, was also to realise and give to the municipality, for free, the pre feasibility study. PEPS engagement has been also to give to the community, at the end of the project, the works results of PV IN BlOOM project. The feasibility study has been promised in order to demonstrate the potentiality of the community territory.

PVPP 5

  • Prevision of further RES investments around the area: Near the TERNA substation is during the link phase a PV Plant of 1 MW circa

Municipality of Ula Tirso, 5,413 MW (three plants  : 1508,7 kW; 2299,2 kW and 1605,3 kW), on the industrial area. Soil was very high polluted and there was problems for the soil characterisation. It was necessary two years for the authorisation also for lack of map of the area. Works began in September 2010 and actually the PV plants are connected to the electrical grid. The last PV plant has been connected the 29th April 2011 . Works to build the plant have been authorised the 29/10/2009. PEPS support consisted in delivering PVPP project information,  involving the local community in order to have the Letter of Intent, networking with the technical officer of the commune and with the company owner of the plant in order to know the work start up time and procedures. PEPS engagement, at the time, was also to realise and give to the community, for free, the pre feasibility study. PEPS engagement has been also to give to the community, at the end of the project, the works results of PV IN BlOOM project. Moreover, it is essential to stress that in Greece project opened a whole new branch of potential investments, linked to the requalification through PVPPs over abandoned or abusive landfills and waste dumps (there are in great number in Greece) given the potential development of the PV market, sun conditions and FIT developments.
The benefits for the small municipalities in the near environment are very high. The citizens get a live example for green energy production in their municipality area. Furthermore local companies have taken part of the works during construction and jobs can be generated for the local operation and security of the photovoltaic park. Another important note is that in the past two years it has been observed, that operating PV systems in Greece produce about 10 to 15 higher output than the estimated values due to the fact that in the recent years the annually available solar radiation is higher than the values used from databases.
